課程概述

Micrometeorology is a branch of meteorology exploring the atmospheric phenomena and processes at the spatial scale close to the land surface. In particular, micrometeorology deals with the exchange of mass, momentum, and energy occurring continuously between the atmosphere and the earth’s surface, including the subsurface medium. The purpose of this course is to offer an overall introduction of micrometeorology and relevant topics to the students with geography-major. In this course, the fundamentals of energy transfer, environmental fluid mechanism, and near-surface turbulent flow will be presented. In addition, the impact of land use change on local micrometeorology will also be discussed in the class.

This course is an advance course designed for the senior undergraduate and graduate students whose background and interests are in physical geography, environmental change, and land-use change.

Prerequisite: Climatology and Lab (氣候學與實習), Calculus (微積分), Statistics (統計學), or other equivalent courses.
